It’s galling that some clients go on holiday when we’re in the middle of writing their resume, cover letter or personal marketing website. Why don’t they contact us afterwards?
They say things like, “I’m not in a hurry” but we’ve got people clambering at our door for help.
They are desperate to get work or that once if a life time promotion!
We work to deadlines. Businesses work to deadlines. Recruiters work to deadlines.
This lazy approach by a minority of clients is a prime reason they’ll struggle in the workforce.
It shows they can’t work with professionals (who are trying to get them work).
They can’t manage their time.
That getting a job is low on their list of priorities.
It disrespects us as professional writers and former recruiters and journalists.
It attacks our business model.
It wastes time we could have spent helping people who are desperate to get a job.
In future, we’ll terminate clients who go on holidays and refund 25 per cent of the fee.
