It doesn’t happen very often but it’s worth a short blog post.
We sometimes get a client who states they want a resume upgrade but on further inspection – and after we’ve provided the quote – they want far more than that.
They are actually career changers and nothing in the communication they sent to us beforehand tells us this.
It’s only after we start the resume they say, “I was hoping you could turn my plumbing resume into an airline pilot’s resume.”
Career changer resumes are double the price of an upgrade, they take twice as long to write and are far more complex.
In some cases there is very little in the resume which can be used to launch a new career.
The client is hoping we’ll work a miracle at a bargain basement price.
When we tell them the new price, they realise we’re not discount miracle workers, and they quietly disappear.
