It was my fault.
A young international student who graduated in IT last year, was looking at long term unemployment. We don’t normally write graduate resumes.
I gave her job to one of our best writers – a Master Resume Writer. He created a new first page and emailed her some questions.
She wrote back that the first page was ‘too short’ and was ‘unprofessional’. She also didn’t pay the account in advance.
Wow. Job terminated. I also had doubts she could write English.
Republic Resumes won’t write graduate or post graduate resumes, cover letters or LinkedIn sites under any circumstance.
The business is returning to its roots of providing working class and white collar professional writing services.
Also, some graduates ignore the fees page – even when we email it to them – and try to bargain us down. They hope we’ll do a ‘special deal’ for them.
We won’t.
All of SA’s major universities and TAFE centres have career advice services. They will assist graduates with their resumes and cover letters. Many of these services are free.
