Every now and then we get a prospective client who has used AI to write their resume. They come to us after it has failed time and time again.
Below is an example and it’s a disaster. I’ve made comments in brackets why this resume will be spiked immediately.
The main reason is it’s trite, non-sensical rubbish. It doesn’t mean anything. The duties are so nebulous as to waste the reader’s time.
There are no results, no achievements, no figures.
That encapsulates the problems with AI. It produces crap and that will never get you a job.
AI RESUME
“Seasoned (meat is seasoned ) manufacturing professional with a strong foundation in process optimization (improvement), problem-solving, and efficient operations management.
“With over (more than) two decades of experience, I have developed a keen ability to (delete: I have developed a keen ability) quickly grasp new concepts and adapt to evolving industry landscapes (landscapes are in gardens).
“I am enthusiastic (incorrect word) about transitioning my skills to a new manufacturing sector (which one?), where I can contribute to operational efficiency and drive positive results.
I am committed to continuous learning and am excited to embrace new challenges. (non-sensical)
Duties (no achievements)
“Manage customer inquiries and provide comprehensive support for product (name the product) selection, orders, quotes and customisation.
“Facilitate (create) cross-functional coordination between production and sales, resulting in timely and quality product fulfillment. (non-sensical)
“Provide administrative and customer service support for sales, marketing & production through production meetings and effective communication. (mindless and non-sensical)
“Optimise (improves) account workflows: quotes, job creation, client contact and artwork coordination.
“Assist in handling NCRs (non-conformance reports – (this comes first) to resolve issues efficiently.
